McCluer Reunion Committee Meeting
7:00 pm - Sports Café, Bridgeton
Attendees: Mickey Schallert Thiel, Connie Luecke Leonard, Joe Mooney, Chris Constant Heet, Andy Thurmond, Angela Woodworth, Betsy McArthur Stevens, Donna Vercellone Luther, Jerry Trifiletti
Below are notes from the meeting at Sports Café on Tuesday, Jan. 15 and February 18:
- Hall – Connie to follow up with Machinist Hall for contract. They were to send her contract after the first of the year. Connie received the contract, now trying to reach them because of the deposit amount they want. It was suppose to be $200.00 and the contract says $500.00. Also, last time we paid the deposit to Russo’s so need to check on that. Several messages have been left but Roger at the hall has not called Connie back.
- Music – We discussed the idea of setting up an Ipod with good speakers, putting the music we want on the Ipod. That way we don’t have to worry about the DJ playing the music too loud, and we will have the music we want. Still planning on having an Ipod with speakers, also Michael Nilson emailed and said we could look into a Sirius portable radio with speakers. A few committee members said they could get the 70’s music to put on the Ipod. With the radio we could just find a 70’s station that plays continuous music.
- Food – We are going to stick with having appetizers for the evening. Everyone liked that at the last reunion. Instead of sitting down to eat it gives people more time to mingle. Connie will call Russo’s to get costs. Connie talked with Russo’s and they email a menu. Also, Russo’s is getting us a price together so we know what to charge for the reunion. They were suppose to call back the week of 2/25 and Connie did not hear from them. Will call at the beginning of the week to follow up.
- Giveaways – Cheryl is going to check into them at her work. Items mentioned were a small picture album (with McCluer design on front) and magnet. The committee still likes the idea of the small photo album with some type of McCluer 73 reunion design on front.
- Getting information out to people – Soon we will send out the first email broadcast to everyone we have email addresses for Bill Keathley. For those we only have home addresses we will need to send out a mailer. Chris Constant Heet has put together a reservation form to be put on the website, also we should be sending out a mailer in the next few weeks.
- Making reservations on the McCluer 73 website. Bill can put a reservation form on the website. It can be printed out by the alumni and mailed in. Bill mentioned that he could actually put the form on the website and alumni could fill it out and pay online (via PayPal). The group at the meeting thought it would be best to have the reservations mailed in with payment. Also, we discussed having the list of people signed up to attend the reunion posted on the website when we start getting reservations. Still not sure if we are going to let people make reservations on line.
- Journals – Donna R. to look into putting an ad in the Suburban Journals. Cheri will look into ad for the Illinois Journal. Donna and Andy have both sent in ads for our reunion with the Journals.
- McCluer Website – Joe to check with posting the reunion on the McCluer (Ferguson-Florissant) website.
- McCluer Tour – Connie to call McCluer and check on the possibility of a tour of the school for 73 alumni on Saturday, Aug. 2, during the day.
*** We want to get a group of committee members together one evening with some laptops and take another stab at finding more alumni. We can use the 20 th class reunion book that was published, look for people at the same address, and possibly get married names for more of the female graduates. Hope to do this at the end of January, either at someone’s house or a Starbucks where there is internet connection. This hasn’t happened yet, but Connie offered to get a group at her house, she has wireless.
Next reunion meeting is Monday, March 10 at 7:00pm at Sports Café. The rest of March is pretty busy with spring breaks and Eater! We plan to meet each month now.

McCluer Reunion Committee Meeting
7:00 pm - Sports Café, Bridgeton
People discussed trying to contact people on their designated alumni list, some have found several people from their list, some have not started but we discussed some ways of going about finding them. We added pretty many people to the "found" list!
I talked with Machinist Hall and confirmed our reunion date and we will be putting a deposit down soon. Joe Mooney and I will be going there to do that and to check the place out again.
It was a pretty short meeting - discussing mostly how we are going to find people.

McCluer Reunion Committee Meeting
7:00 pm - Sports Café, Bridgeton
Just had our meeting for the 35th reunion. Ten committee members showed up with lots of good ideas. We need everyone to contact as many people from our class of 73 that they can. Have them send their email addresses to a committee member or this website. Next reunion- August 2, 2008 at the Machinist Hall in Bridgeton, Missouri!

McCluer Reunion Committee Meeting
7:00 pm - Sports Café, Bridgeton
Attendees: Cheri Schuler Faust, Cheryl Diepenbrock Hawkins, Connie Luecke Leonard, Joe Mooney, Donna Foster Rudroff, Betsy McArthur Stevens, Pat Tunze Tevlin, Mickey Schallert Thiel, Andy Thurmond
- Main discussion in the meeting was about getting contact information on the alumni of the Class of ’73. Any committee members receiving email/home address information was told to forward the information to Connie, who is “keeper” of the master alumni list. We are also getting email information from the website Guestbook.
- Cheri brought a list of “free” search websites to look for alumni: anywho.com , 411.com, co.madison.il.us, zabasearch.com, courts.mo.gov.
- Connie and Bill will coordinate to get the alumni list updated as much as possible, Connie will send list to the committee, and assign each committee a portion of the list to start trying to find contact info.
- Connie will get on Classmates.com and put out a broadcast to all alumni on their list about our website and getting us their contact information.
- Discussed possible location for the reunion next year – Majority of committee likes the Machinist Hall. It’s centrally located, they are flexible with number of attendees (we have no idea how many people we will have coming).
- Discussed possible date for the reunion – at this time we are looking at the last weekend in July 2008 (July 25-26). The other weekend discussed was August 2-3. Joe will contact Machinist Hall to find out about date availability.
- The idea was mentioned to put a sign at the McCluer 72 Reunion this year asking 72 alumni if they have contact info on any 73 graduates (siblings, friends). Connie will talk to her sister Pam about this (72 graduate and on the 72 Reunion Committee).
We did not set a date for our next meeting, but hopefully can get together the end of April or beginning of May. Everyone should have their contact list and will have started trying to locate people.
We had a great meeting. It was fun bringing up names of alumni, looking up their picture in the yearbook that was brought to the meeting and just catching up with everyone.
Connie
